Had some last night for the first time, and man, was it good. I don't know why I had a preconceived notion that it would be really strong or gamey, but I found it to be as tender and tasty as whitetail. I did the simple "butter and onions" method in a frying pan.

Loved it. Now I might want to try and go shoot one...... :toast-yellow:

Antelope is my favorite big game meat I've tried. Love it!

They are all over up here, and I have heard that it is horrible. Glad to hear that it may be worth a try. I love the pelt and mount, so it may be very cool on the wall, too.

Man do they stink. It almost made me sick to butcher the ones I've cut up. The hair is stiff and keeps falling out all over the place too.

But even my wife, who can't stand the "wild taste" of the critters I bring home, found antelope meat to be very acceptable.

I've had mixed results with antelope. The first one killed years ago in Kali ended up not being eatable, i had to retrieve the packs i had handed out before i tried the stuff myself. I took well care of the animal but i kid you not, my dog would not eat it!

This nice lope that i killed this past year in Wy., 63, turned out most excellent. I'm almost out already, wish i had much more of it, i like it that much!!

I have only taken one, so i am no expert, but the one i did take tasted great. Even some of my family and friends that are not fans of deer meat were saying how good it was.

Tastes like chicken.

Does are great, I've never had a good buck...not to say there isn't enough seasonings out there to fix that, but I've never had it. Never had one gamey, but I have had them go bad in just a matter of a few days (3). Not really sure why that is, temp was good, humidity was low. Lost half of one last fall.

They stink when you clean them, as do pigs, and quite a few other animals. I had Barbados sheep last year, and they were similar in taste and texture. Cheaper too.
