Anybody been fishing lately?

Anybody been out freshwater fishing lately? Anything exciting happening out there?

I plan on going to Irvine lake during the week in a couple of weeks. Anybody have any opinions or suggestions on it? I've never been there and want to somewhere real local.

Went to Skinner last Friday.. Didn't have any luck. They are drawing the lake down. It dropped about two feet while we were fishing.

I've been hitting the stripers around here locally with great results. Nothing real big though, up to 10lbs.

Cynic and myself went to the river {Needles Ca} for some quial hunting and fishing.. We Started fishing About 230 300 in the after noon we were tossing hard baits and hadn't gotten a hit in about 1/2 hr. When Cynic say He got a bump then another then the Striper came back and nailed his lure. This fish was just takin line {10/50 braded} and his pole looked liked those old ugly stick comercals. Then he brought it to the surface it must have been 40+ inches . He started to get back his line when the fish came to the top again. then took more line .. Well he got rapped up .. Unable to get free Cynic went for a swim to try to get it unrapped..he didn't.. But we still were able to get a couple of bass so it wasn't all that bad ..For me at least. I didn't lose any of my fish..

It is better to have hooked and lost than to never have hooked at all.

Btw, LAST time me and Coveybustinchris went to the river, I landed a nice 32" striper. I'm not going to put the one I lost at 40", but it was in the 30-35" class.

For those of you who live/near los angeles. Try Kenny Hahn park . Its in the city of Culver City. Its a park wiht a few mountain hills. It also has a small lake. DFG plants it every other week with 1 pound trout. If you fish the little lake the day of planting or a even 2 days after you will catch alot of fish. I catch my 5 trout and release about 30 more. Its a little , little lake. . Good luck
