Eric,

I've heard the rumors. Maybe I should put Global Rescue on retainer?

Speck,

It's my plan to attend the POR and keep my ears and eyes open. For all I know, I could be doing all the right things and just am a lousy pig hunter. If thats the case, I can live with it. In any case, it gives me an excuse to put my Tikka purchase on the fast track. No way I'm gonna lug the old springfield into anyplace that makes you sweat.

Interesting post.

As a new guy I have read with interest a lot of posts. I have seen posts where others were directed to hunt on private land across barbed wire fence right off a state highway. But in going through a lot of posts I have seen general areas to go and check out myself. I always discuss areas with friends. Some times I get good info; some times I discover spots in the general area that my friends either don't know about or knew and weren't going to tell me about.

As an example, I have a friend who has been hunting for 18 years and classifies himself as a guide. In the recent muzzleloader season he drew a tag and couldn't find a deer to save himself. I went to an area we generally discussed and although his tip was bs I did find a doe I spooked from 20 yds in a canyon two over from the one he told me was great.

I appreciate the little clues I find every once in a while. This weekend I plan on checking another one out. It's a 2.5 hour drive but it might pay off.

Long and short of the story is people come here to find info, not suffer through bs of the secret handshake, etc.

Thanks to those of you who will toss out a clue once in a while. It is appreciated.

So far two guys that posted in this thread knows what they're doing when it comes down to tracking hogs. All those indian beads and feathers can go to bigworm, but sounded like he doesn't want them. So those of you who offered the trade can still keep your indian beads and feathers for another trade at another time. Now tell me how many of you just learned the new trick? It doesn't always work but it had worked for me many times.

Beezer, read Bigworm's post.

Speaking of triple nipple canyon, I heard through the vine that during the last May JHO POR at Tejon, one guy claimed he killed his hog in the canyon named after those scurrying buggers on the ground, but when he drove back to retrieve his hog, his truck turned the opposite side of the road. His JHO screen name means something cooked up in the head.

Bret, I wasn't talking about Lake Sonoma. I was inviting you to my private property... Good Luck out there

Hey Mike, once you show someone that property, it's OK to go on our own right? Thats what the guys at the firehouse said.

On a serious note Mike, give me a call, I lost your number. See if you can make it to the duck club on Jan 17th, for the big end of season bash.
