Robert Peterson, from Peterson's publishing (Peterson's Bowhunter, Peterson'sHunting, etc) buys that tag almost every year. I don't know what he killed last year, but the year before he killed a 90"+ buck. ( iheard it was close if not over 95" !!!!) My taxidermist told me that he was chasing a big bigger one but couldn't locate it once the season started. He has been known to eat the tg if he doesn't find the right animal. Could you imagine eating a $40,000 tag? http://www.desertbull.com
An optomitrist, who was one of the pioneers of laser eye surgery, purchased one of the auction tags and killed a dandy buck that netted 92 3/8 in 2001.
I don't know about you, but I'm always skeptical of any buck touted with an odd score...e.g. 92.3. Unless it's net SCI or gross B&C it's not possible. Remember how Petersen's was supposed to have netted 94.3 after 60 days (According to the Pronghorn Newsletter; AZ) but was entered into B&C at 89.6. Just something to think about when people start spoutin' scores.
93 6/8 gross, 91 7/8 net. You can contact Darin Collins @ Double D Outfitters In Bullhead City, Az for more details if you require them. Perhaps he'll send you a photo for your evaluation.
91.7 net, huh. If this is a B&C score it's not possible. You can't have an odd net score with the B&C scoring system. All net scores will end with even eigths...e.g. - 2/8, 4/8, 6/8. The buck did score 93.3 SCI, but SCI's scores are based on the bucks gross. The buck scored 91.6 B&C. In my original post I was more concerned with the other auction tag hunter and what he had killed last year.
