Has anyone ever tried to put in a rear facing infant car seat into a Tacoma (2001 if it matters) extra cab pickup truck?

Sure looks to me like it's gonna be a no-go. I can get it in but can't have a passenger because the front seat can't go back. Bummer, I was hoping to hold off on a second vehicle (or a new one) for a while. If anyone has actually done this let me know, but I think I am toast. The seat I have is a Graco car seat and base.

Have you tried putting it in the middle? I can't comment on the 'yota, but I put a rear-facing Graco in my Silverado extended cab by buckling it up in the middle. It had to stick out between the driver's and passenger's shoulders, but it worked out OK until he was big enough for a car seat. And even then, he had to put his feet on the console when we turned him around.

Yeah, I thought of that too, but the anchor point is behind the passenger seat. I think I am SOL on this one which means this Saturday the truck will be getting a wash, wax and vacuuming and going up on the market!
