A ballot initiative to ban all bear and bobcat hunting in California would be launched if current legislation to ban hounding does not become law, confirmed the nation’s most powerful anti-hunting organization. Senate Bill 1221, sponsored by the Humane Society of the United States, proposes to ban the use of dogs when hunting bear or bobcat. The Assembly will likely vote on the measure this month, and if approved, send it to Gov. Brown for a signature.
