Big Bear Lake’s 6th annual TroutfesT Set for Oct. 2-3

The 6th Annual TroutfesT will be held Oct. 2-3 2010 at Big Bear Lake with prizes awarded for the heaviest five, two-day stringers of trout weighed in during the event in one of four age/gender categories. There will also be an award for the biggest trout landed.

But the real draw for this event is tagged trout worth cash and prizes that total more than $50,000, including a new $30,000 Ford truck and a single $10,000 cash prize. There are also raffles for other prizes, including a $12,500 boat and motor package, and a total-stringer blind bogey event worth $5,000 in cash.

Entry fee is $75 per adult with junior anglers $50. The first 600 anglers who sign up will receive a tackle package valued at $40. The event is sponsored by Western Outdoor News, in association with the Big Bear Municipal Water District, and entry is limited to 1,000 anglers. It has sold out each of the past three years.

The BBMWD plants $15,000 worth of fish, including trophy trout to nine pounds, just prior to this event.

Anglers can register for the event online at Western Outdoor News - California's ONLY Outdoor News Since 1953, clicking on the events folder, or by calling tournament director Bill Egan at 949-366-0030, ext. 40.
