i looked for the match to the mulley probably 5 times and came up empty handed. i checked everything i could so i am excepting the fact that it is gone.
i did find 4 today. one fresh 4 point that is the match to one a buddy found a few weeks back and the rest are old. i will post a pic of what i found last weekend and this one after the weekened is over.
the last 2 weekends my season slowed down a bit. i am running out of spots to look for freshies. last weekend i came in with 2 old ones and this weekend i came in with 8. 2 where fresh and the rest where old. one of the fresh ones i gave to my buddy cause he found the other side 3 weeks ago or more. only have atl of the one that i gave to my buddy, and put the rest on the floor for a pic. and i forgot to put the biggest one in the pic also found a bager skull, brooken point, and a main beam.
exited to see a freshie, but disapointed cause i knew i had to give it away. oh well i got back my shed that i had to trade for my last match(we trade to make it fair)
ditched school today and it was worth it. i found 3 old sheds and my friend found 1 big old one. on the way back to the pickup we walked through a spot that we had already walked pretty good (or so we thought)
i saw this sticking out of the chika weed next to a tree. really thick arround that tree. green up is comming.
nice litle fresh 4 point
took the pic with the camera phone and walked another 20 yards closer to the pickup and i saw something. i thought to myself, man that tree branch looks like an antler, wait a minute that is an antler! only had the camera phone and was to exited to take the pick. grabbed it and screamed with joy. a huge fresh white tail with a 2 inch drop tine. it has a 21 7/8 main been and the g-4 is 5 1/2. the g1, g2, and g3 are broke. really sucks to see that big boy busted i figure he had to be a 160 inch deer, what do u guys think?
well i ditched school on wednesday with my buddy and we did good. started off in the corn field we did great in earlier in the season and nothin. moved to some sage hills above the field where they bedded and i found an oldy right away. then went to the top of a cut in the hill. it got really flat and bare and this was in the middle of the clearing
it is a fricken awesome fresh nontyp. unfortunatly i was almost certain it was the match to my friends he found about a mile away. u guys are going to help me decide but i think it is.
my buddy found one minutes after. it was old and busted
we kept walking the hilside that drops into a creek. we skirted the steep part and an hour later my buddy found a nice fresh one with a crown on the end.
i dropped down low to look at a dead cow and 50 yards from it i saw this and all its glory in the sage.
i saw the drop tine under it but didnt know it was a good 3 inches long.
to bad it was old but still a great one
cut through the corn field on the way back in a spot we walked heavily before and found a nice litle freshie
went to another spot on a narrow creek and we each found an old one. here is mine a very nice 5
end of the day for me
a pic of the non typ
now, i think it is a match considering a mile apart. i am ready to let him have it with a trade since he found the first side but he wants to wait awhile. u think it is a match or not? i want your flat out oppinion.
and last week i matched one up along with 2 old ones and a dead buck
80 yards from the other side i found a few days before
Some quality horns you've run into...i'd a ditched school for a drop tine like that too
Hard to say for sure on the possible match...they certainly have similar characteristics but the bases don't seem to match up too well....hard to say because i found a matching set this year that the pedicels dont look like they match either. Congrats to ya on all the quality finds you've come up with
