CA Pronghorn Handgun a No No?

Pronghorn Handgun?
Just happened to be reading the 2005 CA Big Game Book today, and it looks
like pronghorn cannot be taken with a handgun.
I find this curious, since all other big game can be taken by handgun in
CA.
Any ideas why?

b shotguns for deer, bear and wild pigs
c pistols and revolvers for deer, bear and wild pigs
d pistols and revolver with 4" barrels for elk and sheep

I don't see anything authorizing handguns for antelope, doesn't this seem
odd?
