[h=3]California Gun Registry Bill Passes, Sportsmen Need To Call Governor TODAY[/h][h=4]Call California Governor Jerry Brown Today And Ask Him to Veto Gun Registry Bill[/h]
California Assembly Bill 809, introduced by Assemblyman Mike Feuer (D- Los Angeles), which would require the state to keep registration information for all firearm purchases and transfers, was passed by the state’s legislature and now heads to the Governor.
Sportsmen need to call Governor Jerry Brown and ask him to veto AB 809 today to protect their rights as gun owners!
Currently, California law requires persons who purchase or transfer a handgun to permanentlyregister the gun with the state. These gun owners are required to provide personal information that includes: name, address, place of birth, telephone number, and occupation. The law also requires gun owners to provide a detailed description of the handgun and the gun’s serial number.

If passed, AB 809 would apply the handgun registration requirements to all firearms, including rifles and shotguns commonly used by sportsmen for hunting and recreational shooting.
“This bill is completely unnecessary and only serves to infringe upon sportsmen and gun owners’ rights,” said Jeremy Rine, U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance associate director of state services. “Sportsmen need to make their voices heard to protect their rights by asking Governor Brown to veto AB 809.”
If not vetoed by the Governor Assembly Bill 809 will become law.
"Passage of AB 809 would only result in more beauracratic harassment of law abiding hunters and other long-gun enthusiasts without any meaningful public safety benefits," stated Mark Hennelly, Vice President of the California Outdoor Heritage Alliance.
Take Action! California sportsmen should contact Governor Jerry Brown today at (916) 445-2841 and ask him to veto Assembly Bill 809. Hunters and gun owners across the state should encourage other sportsmen and gun owners to do the same to help protect their rights.

Just received this email from the U.S. Sportsmen's Alert Network.

Ok, I'm going to be the 'bad guy' here. "call the Governor"? Really? You do realize who the Governor is...right. The other side wants you to do exactly what your advocating. Wasting money, time, anger, momentum, etc calling the Governor. Thats right, make him the focal point of the debate. That way, your feeling as if you've done something, when in fact, you've done absolutely nothing.
May I humbly suggest, do not call the Governor. Instead, find who the legislator closest to your home is who voted for this pig and target them for the next election cycle. Make an example out of THAT official. Find their weakness, weather it be a professional weakness or a personal weakness and get em. Get it on film, document it, and share it with the world. Learn how to fight for gods sake!
