Anything fast and flat. I think the 25-06 is just about ideal.

anything bigger than a .243 and smaller than a 300 mag. 7mm mags work good.

That would be my first choice. Thats what I've used on all three of mine and it definately did the job. Especially for the longer shots you might have to take.

Well I do want more than that, but its a Weatherby. And it has a nice Burris scope already mounted in Leupold bases and rings. Its an awesome shooter. It'll shoot 1" 5 shot groups and I have the target to prove it. I'll also toss in 100+ rounds of ammo. It has not been shot much and is in excellent shape. $800 obo.

.257 Weatherby has been my favorite rifle for awhile now. Shooting 120gr Nosler Partitions at 3300+ FPS and being able to shoot that into a .75" 5 shoot group...I love dis rifle. Noslers hold up well at short ranges...say under a hundred yards and mushroom just fine at 300+. This gun of mine has 10+ deer, blacktails up though a good 300lb Muley. 30+ hogs and a few speed goats. I have the name "Distant Thunder" engraved and gold inlayed in the barrel. My .340 says "THOR".

.270 WSM with 130gr should be a great gun also. Or maybe even the .243WSSM with a 95gr. Could be fun rigs! RG
