This one was found last week in a bare spot while most areas still had snow.

I added 3 more small fresh 4pt. sides to my pile today. The area I searched today was the only area I found any decent sign and actually saw buck still carrying on my earlier scouting trips. There was at least a dozen rack buck running this area in early jan. so I know there's still plenty in there to be found.

Nice going so far! Do you have any tips for searching the corn stubble? In the past, I've spent a lot of hours in the stuff and come up fairly empty.

Thanks everyone!!

INshedpicker-I try to stay away from the corn stubble and thankfully there's not too many in my areas. If it wasn't for me wanting a few certain sheds I thought might be in the corn I'd have stayed clear til later.
Looking in corn I like to wait til late season when I know all the buck have dropped.
The best way I like to search corn is to take a few rows on each side of me and walk the row out. When I get to the end I move over a few rows and do it over again.
Depending how thick the stubble is or how good I'd like to search the corn, dictates how many rows I search on a pass. The more rows to watch on each side the slower the walking is,but then there's more walking to walk with less on each side.
Searching corn is slow and time consuming which is why I wait and cover the corn only once after I know all have dropped.
No matter how you search corn it's a pain in the butt.

thanks for those corn tips, I spent a ton of time searching the corn on my first 3 hunts I'm gonna take your advice and wait on it, spend some more time in other likely spots

It's been a rough season for me this year, but now that the snows gone things are starting to look up.
Alot of my regular stomping grounds turned sour on me this year too. While My areas were buried in snow I did some looking around for new areas.I found a couple new spots that have really been good to me with sheds.
From the middle of Feb. up until last Sat. I only added a handful of sheds to the pile. Then Sat. with the snow all but gone I went out looking and the shed count is going up.
I made a stop at the new farm I found earlier for a quick drive down the farm lane. With the spotting scope we could check a good bit of the cut bean field out.It payed off too with a nice matched set off a 10pt.
My son and I then went to another place I had just found and hadn't searched yet.
There we found another 6 sheds with my 9yr.old finding his first ever solo sheds.
The following day I went looking by myself back at the same place as the day before.I found another 11 sheds this day.17 sheds in 2 days of looking at a place I'd ever set foot on.This area has sign all over the place.
I took Mon. off then headed back out to yet another new area Tues. I had another good day finding 10 sheds there.
All the sheds were average small sheds typical of most my areas and there were alot of old sheds too_On top of the sheds we also found 9 dead buck, nothing big again.
In 3 days of looking my count went from 36 sheds to 66 sheds. There's hope I could have another 100 shed year.
Here's some pics.

Since my last update in here things have been going pretty good.I was only skunked one day out looking.I was more trying to locate deer that disappeared from one of my areas.
How do you go from finding 30 sheds in a area with deer and sign every where one year to no deer or sign and only finding a handful of sheds the next year? It's big area.lol I think they was a sniper hunt where the authorities blast away at any and all deer.
Other then that one day my other outtings were pretty good. One day it was a 7 shed day,5 sheds,2 sheds,4 sheds, and yesterday a 6 shed day.
Found some more dead buck also. The biggest being a couple of small 8 pointers.
Yesterday and my no shed day the day before I found 5 turtle shells.I only found a few all season then my last 2 outtings they were everywhere.
It's raining today (hard) so probably won't make it out again til next wed.
My count stands at 90 sheds for the year as of today.Hopefully I can find 10 more sheds to hit the 100 shed mark.
I'll post some pics later.
Good luck everyone at finding sheds!!
