That is some great stuff there. How about a picture of your shed pile? I would love to see how big it is.[/b]
Before this season my shed total is 731 give or take a shed. This summer I plan on throwing them all together for my new shed pile.

Here's the last pic I took of my shed pile for my total sheds found taken after the 2005 season.

Stacy and I made a trip last Saturday and came up empty then I made a solo trip Sunday.I checked out some new areas I'd never been in before. The first area I'd searched before, but hadn't been in there yet this year.It was good for only a couple sheds last year so I wasn't expecting much.I wasn't 100yds from the jeep when I spotted my first shed of the day.A nice shed at one time.

Shed13-2.jpg

Thinking I might pick up a couple other old sheds here I started searching the rest of the area.I'd been looking for about a half hour when I spotted deer out in front of me.The first 8 or 9 deer were doe then bringing up the rear there was 4 buck carrying both sides and one with only one side.Needless to say I turned around and headed to another area. This spot is an out of the way area and any sheds in here should be safe from my competition.

My next spot was a total bust as far as deer and deer sign.I was ready to turn around and head out when I crested a small ditch and spotted my first find of the day.Not a shed, but another dead buck. This is one of the biggest 5 points I've ever seen.Alot of mass on this one.

Big_5pt_.jpg

Big_5pt_-2.jpg

And one more.

Big_5pt_-3.jpg

After moving from this area to my next,my hunt was cut short when I bumped into another shedhunter. It was only a scouting mission so when we stood there in the middle of no where just talking sheds and hunting I didn't feel to bad. While talking with this guy and a really nice guy at that.I found out 2 of his buddies that are retired and do nothing but shed hunt everyday.Did alot of shedding in the same areas I shed hunt in.One of those areas is the same area I killed my big bow buck and he may very well have the other shed off that buck from the year before I killed the buck. I haven't heard back from this guy yet,but I'm hoping he gets a hold of me. After finally leaving my new friend I met I headed off to my last area for the day.I'd never been in this area before so it was all new. Here it was alot of open hardwoods with small rolling hills.Sign was scattered and not alot, but some of the rubs and trails looked great.I'll be making another trip in here again later when I can cover it better. On top of one of the small hills on the flat I spotted some tines. When I spotted this one I had no doubt it was a shed and not a look alike shed.Add another old one to the pile.

That last one looks to be a whopper...too bad he's so chewed up. That would be pretty cool to end up with a shed from your bow buck......I hope that comes through for ya.

I made a half day trip today and my first stop was to check on the big 8.Today it didn't take long to find him and he's still carrying both sides.

Big_8_2.jpg

Today he was running with the smaller 8pt. and the small 10pt.The next best thing to finding a shed is seeing a buck that did shed. The smaller 8 dropped one side.

8pt_Dropped_half.jpg

Here's another pic of the big 8 and what looks like another buck that dropped both sides standing behind him.

Big_8_2-28.jpg

After seeing the smaller 8 shed one side I thought for sure I'd be going home with at least one fresh shed.I searched the high percentage areas where I'd been seeing these guys hanging out and came up empty. With the big 8 still packing I didn't want'a spend too much time in that area so I only gave it a quick search.
In the same area I headed the opposite direction to check another area out there they liked to spend time, nothing again. After checking that second area out I was heading back out when I spotted an antler. It was a small 3pt. side and fresh!!

Shed15.jpg

Shed15-3.jpg

I was already heading out to check out another possible area when I found the shed so I continued my search back to the jeep then headed to the other area. This other area turned out to be a bust and it was late so I headed home.

nice sheds but i have a question...

How do you get such good photos of the deer? You seem to get really close, do they blow and run off?

I cannot get to within 100 yards of the deer around here, let alone a big buck like that.

Alot of these deer are suburbia deer and are use to seeing people all the time. Not that your going to hand feed any of them. Some of my pics I crest a small hill and am on them before they realize I'm there. Most the pics the deer aren't that close and I zoom in with my camera.
Some pics I see the deer coming my way and find a nice hinding place and let the deer approach me.

Yesterday Stacy and I went on the second MWC Shed Hunt. This was where I found the monster typical set last year and another member found a single non-typical that scored 87".No luck from anyone in the group finding antlers again off either deer.
We searched 2 different areas coming home with 2 more sheds and a couple more dead buck. Our first find was a dead spike we gave to another member,no pics.a couple hours into the hunt we finally spotted our first antler of the day.A nice fresh 4pt. side.

Shed16-2.jpg

Shed16-3.jpg

Shed16-4.jpg

When the group moved to the second area we found a dead 8pt. here. There wasn't as much sign here and this area was up and down hills all the time so a couple of us went back to the first area.

Here's the dead 8pt. from the second area.

Shed_Hunt_Buck_1.jpg

Shed_Hunt_Buck_2.jpg

Back at the first area it wasn't long and another dead 8pt. was found. This one layed awhile, but the was very little damage from the rodents.

Shed_Hunt_Buck_3.jpg

After this find it was getting late when tines were spotted one more time. This time they were from an old 4pt. side the saw better days. After finding this latest shed I went to pull my 2 way radio out and realized I'd lost it.

Here's both sheds for the day.

That's a bummer that you lost your radio...I'm sure that will be harder to spot than a shed
<
Nice finds though...that four point has some beautiful tine length.

My shed season is still not doing much.I thought for sure my last trip Tues. would have produced more then what it did.One old shed that the rodents had a field day on and a little tiny Y shed.My first find was the old chewed shed.

Shed18.jpg

Shed18-2.jpg

Then a couple hours later and a ton of walking I find my big find for the day.At least it's a fresh drop.

I think I may set a new yearly record for myself with most old sheds found in a year.I made 3 more trips and added 3 more sheds, 2 old and a rare fresh shed.Out of the 22 found so far 15 are old sheds and 7 are fresh drops.
My first trip last Sat. I found a fresh 4pt. side and another small 3pt. skull.

Shed20.jpg

Shed20-4.jpg

And the little 3pt skull.

3pt-2.jpg

My next hunt I was lookin out at my dads place (local) hoping to find the mate to the fresh 5pt found a couple weeks ago. Here I found an old and badly chewed shed and another dead buck. This one a little Y buck and had been laying a while. Also picked up a cleaned up fox skull in pretty good shape.

Shed21.jpg

papssculls1.jpg

My last hunt was back to my dads's place to extend my search out to cover some more ground. My only find this day was an old spike shed.

Deershed what is you highest count for a yearly total?[/b]

Last year was my record year for one season finding 116.

I was out sweating my butt off today looking with the temps. in the high 70's.I found 6 sheds,3 fresh and 3 old ones.I started off in the area of the big 8.I've been trying to figure out where he's taken off to and today I was expanding my search of that area when I found my first shed.A fresh 4pt. side with a deadly looking tine that looks like a knife blade.

Shed23-2.jpg

Shed23-3.jpg

After finding this first one I really thought the day would be fresh drops only. The fresh drops only lasted about 5 mins when I spotted another old chewed one.

Shed24.jpg

It wasn't long when I came back finding another fresh one. This one was a nice white spike shed.

Shed26.jpg

Shed26-3.jpg

The curse of the old ones wasn't about to die that easy. When I first spotted this next one I thought it was a busted off antler, just another old one,

Shed25-2.jpg

Shed25.jpg

Here's the 4 from this area.

Sheds23thur26.jpg

After this area I moved to another area I found earlier in the year when we had snow.I saw 5 different little buck here, but knew finding their sheds might be a little hard. The biggest buck I saw was a little 6pt. and a couple were spikes.
I was looking for awhile with no luck when I barely made out some tines in some weeds.Turned out it was an old 4pt. side.

Shed27.jpg

Shed27-3.jpg

Shed27-2.jpg

Being happy to find at least one in this area I was ready to call it a day.I figured I'd make a few more passes across the hill top then call it a day.On the second pass I spotted the curve of an antler. The score tied with fresh and old sheds with this one being a fresh 4pt side.

Shed28.jpg

Shed28-2.jpg

I ended looking for about another hour with no more finds.

Here's the 2 antlers from this area.

Sheds2728.jpg

And here's all 6 from the day.
