DFG seeks public input on development of the 2007 Klamath River and Trinity River Fishing Regulations
Contact(s):
Sara Borok, Klamath River Project-Associate Fisheries Biologist, (707) 822-0330
The Pacific Fisheries Management Council has presented three harvest options for Klamath basin fall-run Chinook salmon to the California Fish and Game Commission.
The current sport fish regulation language allows for the harvest of one adult salmon per day with two adults in possession for seven consecutive days on the Klamath and Trinity rivers. With an anticipated larger sport fish quota for the in-river Chinook fishery during the 2007 season (between 8,000 and 12,800 fish), the Department of Fish and Game is seeking input from the public on how to best utilize the fishery this season.
Two meetings are scheduled for public input:
April 2 at 6:30 p.m. in Klamath, at the Klamath Community Center, 219 Salmon Blvd.
April 5 at 6:30 p.m. in Weaverville, at the Public Utilities District Conference Room, 26 Ponderosa Lane.
Citizens unable to attend either meeting can submit written comments to:
