I find it interesting that recreational anglers were the driving force in the restoration of the halibut fishery by lobbying to remove the commercial nets and funding/operating/distributing hatchery halibut by the millions. We catch fewer than we place but get no credit and now fishing license revenues will once again screw sportsmen in the rear. This is why I refused to buy a fishing license in this crappy state this year. I am done funding this baloney! Oregon can sell me a license. This is why CA hunting and fishing license sales are down. I've been to these hearings...the game is rigged against the sportsmen. The MPA implementation proved it. No money for you from me anymore!

"The public is encouraged to provide input to managers and representatives which will aid in the development of future Pacific halibut management."

The public should have no say in things they know nothing about.

The commission has already decided what it will do based on political pressure, the hearings are for show...a mandated dog & pony show for the masses that do not influence policy for sh*t. Just my educated opinion.
