SD, pretty sure you only HAVE to use a centerfire with expanding bullets (no FMJ).

Like I said before, it's all about shot placement. You could shoot them with a 300 win mag in the wrong place and they'll run for days. They might not even die and if they do it will be in the thickest roughest place imaginable, but put a good shot on them with any caliber to paralyze them or cause hemmoraging and you'll be very happy.
