So my son tells me he wants to go hunting with me this year. I've been waiting for those words for a couple years now, so I was excited to get him up in the deer hills to start scouting. Today, I was gonna take him to this little canyon I've been hunting for years..I knew we'd find some "sign" and he would have fun getting into the woods with dad. Well, we found some "sign" alright...the sign said ROAD CLOSED...Unfrickin believable, the Sheep Fire closure area (from october 2009) is still closed. Are they serious? The letter taped to the gate stated that the area was closed from April, 2010 until Oct. 3, 2010...I guess I can live with that IF they actually open it before deer season starts...That is a huge IF too..my experience over the past several seasons is that portions of D11 will be closed a week before deer season starts and will be re-opened after the season ends. Seems awful strange to me how that happens on a regular basis. Publics lands that arent open to the public seems to be the norm around here...End of rant
