Fishing pier now open

BURNEY — A new fishing pier has opened for public use on Lake Britton at McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park and is accessible to persons with disabilities and should become a popular fishing location for people chasing bluegill, crappie, smallmouth bass and trout.
Funding for the pier was provided by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. and is located east of the boat launch ramp.
A California fishing license is required to fish Lake Britton and entry into the park is $4 per vehicle.
The park is located on Highway 89, 12 miles north of Burney and showcases the 129-foot Burney Falls. For more information on the pier, or recreation options at the park, call 225-2065.
