I found the first big speed goat of the year yesterday and got him on video. He should go in the low to mid 80's. The video is not that great until he turns sideways, his prongs are HUGE! Anyone else found a good one yet?

I've seen one that'll break 90 when the season hits and one that'll be close...I just haven't been close enough to really figure him out, yet. I'ma keep looking 'til I find a bigger one. By the way, why do you say you found a "slug"?

Slug is slang for huge. This goat probably is not "slug" status, he is probably just a "toad". A "toad" is just damn big. For the ranches I have leased in NM a, 83"-85" goat is a toad and anything over 86" is a slug. Hope that helps.

Anything over 86" is huge on any ranch.

Whereabouts do you lease in N.M.?

I have about 100 sections leased in east central NM. It comprises 3 ranches but they are all very close to each other. There are lots of alfalfa, corn, peanuts and milo circles on one of the ranches and we should smack some "toads" if I can get all of the hunts booked. I have 7 permits and have only sold 3 so far.

Our ranches are in central and western N.M. and we still have some openings, too. Normally we're booked solid before now.
