Hey all,
DFG's "Free Fishing Day" is this Saturday (no license needed). So, I'm rounding up a bunch of my friends who dont normally fish so we can all get out of OC for a while and relax. I was gonna head up to Big Bear Lake at about 9:30 - 10:00ish on Friday night and throw a line in around midnight. I hear its legal there to fish all night (dunno about boats though, we're shore fishing).
I know this day coincides with the carp round-up so the lake is likely to be packed (damn bow I ordered still isnt here and isnt likely to be). We're hoping to get out of there before it gets too warm (although the weather report states its gonna be nowhere near as hot as last weekend). Lows in the 30s at night and highs in the upper 70s daytime is what I'm hearing.
Was wondering if anyone knew if theres any hold-out trout reachable from shore (near the dam area I assume)? Maybe there's a better chance over at one of the neighboring lakes? I havent actually fished up there since I was a kid and dont even know what its like up there anymore.
-Thanks!
