As another archery buck season is about to open in coastal California's A Zone, I am laying out all the gear for the upcoming weekend trip --

- camping gear

- dayhiking gear

- bowhunting gear

- extra arrows

- dragging and skinning gear

- dry foods

- drinking water

- washing water

- maps and notes

- extra clothing.

I will pack it all into my vehicle Thursday and head-out early to get there a day before the droves on Friday do.

There are not a lot of campgrounds where I am going so I want to get there early to make sure I get one.

Right now I am not thinking of anything else besides deerhunting.

The early coast buck hunting season is a good time to shake everything out for the later mountain hunting seasons which are in the fall.

I am guessing there are a lot of others who are thinking and doing the same things now as well.

Life Is Good. Thank you God.

Everything is now packed into the vehicle. Only the ice chest is the last thing to be loaded.

I will leave home around noon today, to get there around 2 or 3 pm. Plenty of time to grab a campsite before the droves of opening weekend hunters arrive on Friday.

good luck out there Shoobee, drive safe and shot straight. Can't wait to see the pics of your buck. No opening day for me since my wife set a 10 year memorial for her father. Thank the Lord I have next week off.
