So I've lived near the Los Padres for 16 years now and have still yet to go hunting. I grew up hunting Coues deer so I am thinking the Los Padres is not as scary to hunt as people say. Definitely going to be difficult but I don't think it will be much different then Coues. Hike back into the country and glass all day the general strategy for coues. Any different for the los padres? I feel like those canyons with mix chaparral, grass and a few oaks (if your lucky enough to find oaks in public land) are going to have deer bedded down at some point during the season. I'm not afraid to hike, I don't need your hunting spot, I can find them but I would appreciate any advice for the central coast deer behaviors. Where and how they like to bed down and any other advice would be great.
P.S. Yes I know they like the new burn growth. I swear its the only good advice I've read online
