So after two no so stellar trips for salmon I decided to be a glutton for punishment and try for salmon again. This time I didn’t give it long went 2-3 hours no bites no scratched baits. It was at this moment I knew it’s time to shift gears as bad as it hurts. I went inside jigged up 14 squid and thought that’s plenty for halibut I was close to a rock structure I had fished in the past so I went and thought let’s get some rock cod just in case no halibut I will have something. Got ten rock cod limit
fast and looked over and saw squid boats and light boats in a known halibut area. Headed that way and when I got there It was on fire. Boxed a halibut limit fast and called a buddy over and he got a limit as well. He took a cool picture of me gaffing one. Great day got limits. Tight lines shoot straight be safe
