I really do not how to explain this weekend....but just one freaking huge, mind explosion of excitement.....from having boars charge me after being shot at 50 yards in the front shoulder, to spanking another pig on a dead run while blowing its jaw off (I quess it was lead just a little to far!)....Everyone, and I mean everyone needs to book a hunt with my new friend Clayton Grant from Bitterwater Outfitters right off highway 46 on the kern county side, in a little town called Shandon next to Paso Robles. I will have more details later for everyone...I am just worn out atfter my one day adventure and happy to be home to new born son after being caught in a terrential rain storm on the grapevine! Clayton and his dad are seriously two of a kind with enormous hearts and spread, and lots off of good opportunity to kill that prize hogzilla! I can not wait to go back...if anyone wants to go please pm me or right me an e-mail at Integritypack@aol.com and I will fill you on the details. These guys know excitement...and they pride themselves on delivering the action! I am now hooked for life, and want to take everyone I know to share in this same experience....100% success should speak for itself.

Way to wack em and stack em. What kind of rifle is that? It looks kind of unique and compact. Just a little warning too. I wouldn't be surprised if you catch some flack for the picture of the guy riding the pig. You might want to take that one down before you get roasted. Thats just my two cents for what its worth. Congrats again!

Post is back up CATCH. Pics of folks dishonoring dead animals are not appropriate here.

Sorry for not replying....my laptop crashed...Sorry for the picture posted to everyone and if it offended anyone, ...those who know me personaly know the respect I show and give every animal I hunt or take....regardless the explanation behind the picture is that Clayton was an ex professional rodeo man, and thats why I took the picture...again sorry for any misconceptions and offending anyone.

That was some beautiful country, and I love my little 308 rem., if anyone is interested in going to the ranch for a pig hunt write me an e-mail and I will give you specific information about the hunt my e-mail is integritypack@aol.com

Catch,

I don't mean to bust your chops or anything but is the ranch you hunted have no heavy cover, trees. poison oak or chapparal, cause if it doesn't I would be very sceptical of the folks running that operation. That looks more like Chukkar country than pig (and deer) country. Nothing personal against you but there have been bogus pig outfitters in the Golden State before. If those pictures are just part of the ranch, my apologies.

Metdawg44....your not busting my chops, and to answer your question...there is plenty of cover on the ranch (mostly oaks, wild barley, canyons and washes everywhere) the picture I took was by the ranch house because it was absolutely beautiful showing rolling hills of grain.....the pigs feed at night in the surrounding pistacios, almond, grape, and other fields...then they head towards the high country where we catch them sneaking through the brush and the canyons. And I saw a good amount of deer on his property as well, being that I am a deer enthusiast like most here. These guys are legit, and run a wild boar hunting operation....nothing planted or fake here. None of those spotted pigs that I see taken on other ranches...these are true russian strain pigs, most all I saw were black, except for the boar I shot that was cinnamen color...I am not pig professional, I just know that these guys were a class act who were very hard working, were very hospitapal, and extremely helpfull in filling our tags.

Did you shoot all of those pigs or did somebody else go with you? Give us the story on how they were taken.

I shot only the one boar, and assisted my uncle on the big sow, my cousins shot the other boar. From the start of the hunt to end all I can say is that it was one huge adrenaline rush from the boar I shot at 80 yards that after being shot perfectly behind the front shoulder...still charged after me. I wish I could explain in better detail, how we chased those hogs at mock speed to get that brief opportunity to throw some copper at them before they dissapear into the hills. PORCH I was hunting pretty close to your backyard being that your from San Luis Obispo....do have any areas up there you chase turkeys? I shot mine last year in Arroyo Grande pretty close to you as well.
