Can't wait to see some of the guys I have hunted with in the past and meet some new faces. Those of us that are going to should chat about food a bit as the time draws near. I have some ham, pork loins, sausage (pig and elk) to bring along for the BBQ. I need to move some meat from the freezer before I can fill it up again (per the wife)

Steve,

I agree on the food thing. It seems every time we get together we are over stocked on food. What if we were to each take care of our own breakfast and lunch and then bring two SMALL meat servings and sides each? We might be able to combine for dinner with not much left over.

Hey Bigtusker,

I have sent you a couple of emails through this forum. I don't think it is working. Do you have a web site that I can take a look at? If not, how can I contact you about a hunt?

Of all the people coming on this hunt, which of you is familiar with the Paicines General Store at the intersection of Highway 25 and Panoche Road(CR J1) south of Hollister?

I figure that is the best place for everyone to meet since it's only a short drive from there to my ranch. And they sell BEER! Of course it's real expensive so if you are planning on a

That's cool. It is REAL easy to find, especially coming out of Hollister. I usually stop there for a soda on the way back from Laguna Mtn.

It's right here

Coming from Sac, it might be easiest to run I-5 to 152, then take off south on 25. 25 does some kinda weird stuff through Hollister, so watch the signs.

From the Bay Area, head up 101 to 25, go through Hollister (watching the signs), and follow 25 out the other side.

You can't miss the General Store. If you do, it's a lot of rural highway and NOTHING ELSE. If you hit the turn-off to Clear Creek Management area, you know you've gone way too far.

Not sure the best way coming from the South. You could take 5 to Panoche Road, and cut through. When you hit 25 you'll be at the store. But that's a LOOOONNNNGGG road! Probably better is to come up 101 to 198, then cut across to 25 and go north. That's another LOOONNNGGG Road, but it's better than going all the way up to Hollister and cutting back.

OK guys,

Bigtusker wants us to meet him at 12:00pm at a store about 45 minutes from the property and follow him in together. He is sending me a map that I will email to all of you. If you could all send me your email in a PM, I'll make sure and get that map to you. We can start hunting as soon as we get to the ranch. If we are lucky we might be having wild pork tenderloin for dinner!

Meet at noon... on which day?

If we're meeting up on the 19th, I may have to catch up with you guys later in the evening, due to an unstable work schedule. I'll know more as the time gets closer, but will likely not be free until the end of the business day.

Speck,

We would be meeting at noon on the 19th. It's cool if you come later, you'll just have to come straight to the ranch.

Hey guys,

Disregard the emails I sent and use the map that Speck posted. I totally missed that post.

I'll follow Specks advice about coming up the 101 instead of the 5.

Be there at 12 noon.

I'm familiar with the store. I'll be coming from Paoche Rd, since I live in Los Banos. Although, it might be faster going through Hollister (less windy roads). Either way, I'll see you guys at the store.
