Dave: Good idea. I also agree with you and Speck about fending for ourselves for lunch and breakfast. One of the guys on my last trip made a big batch of breakfast buritos that were awesome. I think I may bring some of them along.
I'll bring a big ole slab of elk ribs for a little appi one night. Just might need a good recipie. I can cook them up ahead (Thursday) or we can cook them one afternoon or evening. I also have pork loin but I won't bring them so we have a little more incentive to connect
OK...........any more pictures like that and I'm putting an arrow through the screen. I'm ready to stick a real hog. I'm tired of shooting a cardboard cutout. That is a great looking hog.
I'll bring some meat for Friday/Sat night as well. It will be the usual marinated Aranchera steaks. I'll bring the Pappy's also. Can't forget the tortilla's.
So, what does evryone like to keep warm around the campfire? (drink preferance) Feel like celebrating my layoff from Pfired, I mean Pfizer. Our site was a casualty of the Pharmacia buyout. No need to worry, already have something lined up.
Chopper: How much extra if we run into any turkeys?
Sounds like i've hooked up with the right crowd...the food sounds good guys, by the 20th my wild game meat supply will be gone, just in time to replenish.......I'll bring extra "non-wild" food & some additional booze to keep my end of the bargain.
I discovered some marinated pork at our Super A Market called Adobada. I'll bring some of that. A couple of 12 packs of Firestone ought to round it out nicely. I wouldn't be suprised if we had some wild boar tenderloin on friday and saturday night.
bighorn:
I can bring a couple of smaller sized meat servings for dinner

specmisser:
I should be able to whip up a big batch of elk chili for one evening.

ok guys so far we seem to have a lot of food on the way, i have a couple of abalone (lot of work) but HmHm good and drinks.
copperjhon and i will bring a beer truck what is everyone prefernce??
I'll also bring along some of the pork loin with the 10 lbs or so of elk ribs.
As for the booze. Good ole MGD and a bottle of dark rum for me. Oh, and for those of you that like cigars I have 3 Cohiba's that I just brought back from London (cuban......sshhhhh). They are sitting in my humidor and are for the first 2 pig shooters. I need one for myself after all
There is a great cigar shop near me where this old cuban dude hand rolls all his cigars. They are really nice, I can make a pit stop if there are any "smoke a cigar around the camp fire" types in the crowd. I seem to recall Jesse likes 'em.
I'm not real big on beer, but I'll knock down a Corona or Modelo.
I'll probably have a fifth of Kentucky's finest "kickin' chicken" in the truck anyway (usually keep the camp box loaded), so I'll be set to toast the big piggies.
I'll drink pretty much any kind of beer. I was thinking I'd bring some Firestone. I've been drinking that lately. Good beer out of Paso Robles. I'm not going to bring much of the pork. I just want to be able to chip in and not mooch off of everybody else.
bigtusker: A bunch of posts back you PM's pigig the long and lat co-ords for your ranch. Can you send them to me also? Just doing a little playing with map software and thought I may as well use something useful as a test. Thanks !!
Just lurking through here, and reading the last few posts I've got to ask, are you all going to hunt, or are you going to drink? I think I should have been a bit more proactive and signed on as this sounds like my kind of trip (hunt hard, then "play" hard).
You guys all have a safe sucessful hunt, don't get high-centered, and post up some pics when ya get back!
I'll
to you guys this weekend while I'm building my new puppy a kennel in the mud-pit out back.
Cheers, Backcountry

Ok, so I see this hunt isn't until next month... Great... BDB will have time to get his new bow tuned up, and everyone else can "practice"
