This is my first post and thought I'd pass some handy info along. There are some free hog trap plans at http://www.deercampproductions.com Useful info
You still have to use non-lead in the condor zone. Certain methods of take, such as buckshot, are not legal. It's in the fine print of the permit.
In CA, once you trap the hogs you have to kill them, and to kill them in the Condor range you must use non-lead, regardless of whether you are sport hunting or depredation hunting (as of December, 2008).
You may NOT trap hogs without a depredation permit in CA.
The officer who approves the permit will determine how you must dispose of the carcasses, as well as what means you may use to depredate the hogs (traps, rifles, archery, etc.). They usually let you do what you want with the meat, as long as you do not sell it.
Dang! You guys have a lot of restrictions on trapping hogs. I guess there's a reason for them all, but I sure am glad we're not that limited here.
