Hunting help?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering what kind of game I can hunt for in or near la county? I have a .22 marlin model 60 and a beeman .22 / .177 air rifle.. I would prefer to use my marlin thou. Also doesn't help that 22 ammo is extremely hard to find. But yea if anyone has any suggestions on places to go and what game I can shoot with a 22 that would be awesome! Also when hunting which game can I hunt with out a permit and what's the process of getting a permit. Thank you guys for your time.

Take the hunters safety course before anything else. They will have answers to a lot of your questions, also the course is required for getting a hunting licence. Good luck!

Much of Ca is Non lead ammo only. Good luck trying to find some in .22 anyways. Everyone loves a $10,000 dollar fine.

Give them a call and schedule yourself-You don't need experience to take the class and it is required to have in order to obtain a hunting license.. Lot's of rabbits and squirells in all the foothills above/around Los A both of which can be hunted with a 22 of 177.

No hunting rabbits, in LA county with a rifle or pistol, you can go outside that county for that. I believe this restriction includes air rifles. It's getting tough to hunt with a 22 anymore. You may want to look at getting a shotgun if hunting that area, or travel to San Bernardino for rabbits/squirrels.[h=4]§311.7.
