Well, my plans have changed already! I forgot I promised my son that I would take him to the Monster Trucks on the 17th. Now my buddy and I will be coming over Saturday morning before the sun comes up and then staying the night in Billeting. I made my reservations today and the girl there, Amanda I think, said that they still had quite a few rooms left for those of you interested. It's cheaper than the lodge and the rooms are nicer. Oh ya, it's also right across the street from the Cantina
<
Jesse posted a link to the FHL info and the Billeting number is listed. See you all there.

Jesse, I'd like to join you guys, it sounds like a good time.
The permit form is for the 2004-2005 licence year, is that going to be a problem? The last time I was there was 20 years ago and they didn't have much tolerance for any deviations from the rules, I don't imagine that has changed much.

alcohol allowed.......................................hmmmmm.
i am not aware of the rule for alcohol , but
i do not think anyone will have any problems with it. especially if there is meat hanging.

alcohol is allowed in the campground... but NOT in the training area's.. asking for trouble if you take it out there and get caught with it.

I was out there last weekend. Saterday was COLD in the morrining, glad i had three shirts and long johns on but by 1000 i was taking everything off. sunday wasnt to bad was striping by 800. If its not rainning but overcast it wont be to bad but if its clear it will be COLD if not below freezing.

Going this Saturday the 28th, and i will proabley get somthing sence my wife will have the pickup and i will have the car. I can see myself trying to put a 300 pounder in the trunk.

So if I hear a "aaaaaahhhhhhhhh" mysteriously sound down from the clouds then i'll know who it is.

I might be up there this sat for the last weekend of Quail. And do some pig hunting while i'm at it. Had some friends get some pigs out of area 24 early in the month. But they got there jeep stuck in the process. Was a good story.

calijeephuntr-
i beleive i met your friends a few weeks ago in line at the game shack. i did not get their names, do they drive a white jeep? i remember him telling me that he was offering to pull people out of mud if needed and then got stuck himself.
he said they had to leave thier jeep there over night or longer.

getting stuck in FHL is not fun. i have done it to many times. of course for those who have gotten stuck.................................know jardines and they can will come out and get unstuck for a pretty penny! at that point it is worth it.

hopefully we will not have to much rain for the long weekend hunt.

hntboar: Ended up going on the 29th woke up saterday with a bad kink in my neck could not turn my head to shoot my bow but woke up sunday felt fine. Tryed section 25 there was some fresh sign down by the river and on the far east side of the section but not very much. Being the last day of quail there were a lot of bird hunters there and it sounded like they were scoring. There was a hog takin out of 24, it was about 175 lbs (just by looking at it) Was going to hunt the river bank in the evening until dark but it was craling with birds hunters, thats ok they were there first and it was the last day of there season hope they all got some birds.

So, how many of us are going to be there Presidents Day Weekend? If there are enough of us, maybe we should all check the FHL site next Thursday night and come up with a plan of attack? Spread us JHO'ers around the zones on Saturday morning and get together at the campground early in the afternoon with a scouting report. Might be a way to make us a little more succesfull.

. I'll be there late Friday night (got a helluva drive) - might have to stay in base accomodations. I'll be driving a black Tundra. Looking forward to hunting with some JHOer's.
