OK, maybe it's just that the merchandisers have gotten to me, but...
:xmas-hat:
Just in time for Christmas, let's start the sign-ups for the next JHO Annual POR.
THIS IS NOT FOR THE ARCHERY-ONLY HUNTS. SEE THE PREVIOUS POSTS FOR INFORMATION ON THE FEBRUARY AND JUNE ARCHERY HUNTS.
This is the all legal methods hunt on the South Side, from May 24-27.
Registration will be limited, as usual, to 50 hunters.
Here's the deal, and let's see if I can make this as easy for me as possible, and maybe make it a little easier for you guys too...
If you do not follow these directions, your request may very well be lost (or ignored). It's not that hard to do.
FIRST: Send me an email.
Even if you've been on every JHO hunt, you still need to send me your request. If you sent a request prior to this announcement, consider it null... I've probably lost it. Send me another request now.
DO NOT call me on the phone to request a packet.
DO NOT post your request here on JHO.
Send me an email.
That email MUST contain:
OK, once you've done that, the ball is in my court. Please be patient. I will compile the list of requests, and I will periodically send out application packets.
Those of you who've gone through this with me know that they WILL be coming... but they will come at MY PACE. I will get to them when I have time and inclination. This is NOT my job. I am NOT an employee of Tejon Ranch, nor am I a paid employee of JHO. I do this because I really get a kick out of this event every year, and I am willing to make my effort to ensure it happens time and again.
I don't really mind if you ping me now and again to ask about the status. I may seem annoyed if I respond, but I'm not really. Just know that your requests aren't really going to change my mode of operation... I'll make the copies, stuff the envelopes, and send out the application packets in my own time. Everyone who wants to be in the hunt will get a fair shot at getting in.
On the other hand, the onus will be back on you once you've received your packet. The hunt quota is set, and I will not make exceptions. 50 people is a good-sized group for the area, and leaves us plenty of room to hunt without tripping over one another. Those 50 hunters will be the first 50 to return properly completed and fully paid application packets. I will not hold a spot for anyone.
I'll post up more information about completing your packets once I start sending them out.
I know... it's still six months til May. Plenty of time. But don't let it sneak up on you.
