First Mother's Day, now Memorial Day, I guess the May 24Th Birthday excuse may fly. I have a date with a big boar that lucked out due to a freakin Wil-e-coyote last trip. I'm sure I'll be there again, can't break the perfect attendance for the annual event. It's a hell of a time and I keep promising myself that I'm gonna hunt new areas each time, but yet return to the same ole spots.

Hey Mark,

Tejon has PORs every month from December to June, with the exception of April, and I know there are a handful of JHOers who make some of them.

As far as a JHO hunt, there's the archery hunt in February. I won't schedule another JHO hunt during the rain months. The hunting can be good, but the roads are crazy. One near wipe out was enough for me.

If someone can mail me the app I can scan it and make it a .pdf file that anyone can download and print. I can hang any of the docs for the hunt on the server. Less stamps and leg work. Mo better.

Thanks for offering to make it easier, but I really need to get the requests in my records in order to keep up with things. If folks just start printing out apps, I'll have no way of anticipating demand or of verifying who is who.

Until I get a better way (I have some ideas), I need folks to keep to the program as is.

PHIL, HAS TEJON CHANGED THEIR POLICY ABOUT RIDE-ALONG'S ? I CAN'T LOCATE THE PACKET THEY SENT ME BUT IT SAID SOMETHING ABOUT INCLUDING THE NAMES OF RIDE ALONGS OR NON-HUNTING COMPANIONS ? IF NOT MAYBE WE COULD TRY TO GET THEM TO INCUDE NON HUNTING FOLKS, IT WOULD INCREASE THEIR BOOKINGS I'M SURE BECAUSE SOMETIMES LIKE IN MY CASE I CAN USE THE COMPANY AND HELP GETTING GAME OUT, BILL

Ride-along policy is still the same, Bill. They have a pretty solid argument for that one, and from some of what I've seen there (not from our group), I think they're taking the right path.

Please note, however, that youth hunters, under 16, hunt for half price. That's new for us this year.

The first batch of application packets for this hunt are in the mail. You should see them next week by this time. If you requested a packet and do not receive it by next Friday (01/12) shoot me an email.

Still plenty of space and lots of time to sign up. It's a holiday weekend, so no better time to plan a four-day weekend (hunt Friday through Sunday, and spend Monday cutting meat and grilling fresh tenderloin for Memorial day!).

Oh, and by the way...

Don't forget that this year Junior hunters hunt for half-price on all Tejon hunts (including ours). It's a great place to get a youngster on his or her first hog!
