I have 16 hours to go! Two of us are pulling out of SF at 5am and picking up a 3rd near Los Banos at 7am. Had to cancel my 5th wedding anniversary dinner plans tonight since I'm not done packing yet !!!!
<
<

Well, OK, my wife cancelled them as she has come down with a flu or something and doesn't feel like dropping a couple of C-notes on a dinner with a messed up stomach
<
We'll go next week some time but I did get all my packing done last night assuming we were headed to dinner tonight.

From the sound of it I don't think the rain will stop them from having fun.

The rain makes driving hell there, but it also makes the hogs move around more in the middle of the day.

Sounds like fun.

Good luck all

Have driven 4x4's in the jungles of Borneo, Leyte and Luzon mountains in middle of monsoon season.

Still the Tejon one-truck only canyon roads put butterflies in me stomach. And it was summer.

<
Dang outright scary even just to imagine driving in those mud slick roads when you can't back-up or when there is no allowance whatsover if your truck go sideways.

I would advice buddy system and all four wheels on chains.

The roads aren't so bad, they just are a lot more technical when you try to drive them from outside the truck. J/K Beast. Good luck guys, can't wait for the stories and photos.

Just a spot to check, every time I went into Tejon Canyon I always glassed up this huge black boar to the south of the road. The spot is right at the head of the canyon where is starts to neck down and get narrow where there is a huge meadow to your right and thick green on the steep slope to the south. He stayed about mid level and was out in the morning and evenings many days. It's was in the Big Game archery area and I was turkey hunting so I couldn't go after him. Place was real piggy all around that ridge.

Hey Ron, that's great to know! Looking forward to seeing you again. Not that I have doubts about any of the Tejon guys, but I now have no doubt we'll be in good hands.

Chopper, drop a twenty in a g-string for me, if you would! That's about the last thing that would make this trip perfect.

I'm kicking back in Buttonwillow right now, gonna get a little rest before the fun starts!

I talked to Speckmisser by phone just before they were let into the gate.

He said he was pretty sure he was going to blow off hunting, and just sit on the veranda drinking cognac all weekend!
