Good luck AS. I was planning on going up this week but my Grandmother is on her deathbed so I have to stay around home and wait for the phone call to go home. Hope to get back up to Sonoma after that though.

Went up there recenlty, no luck. Would love to go again. Post some dates and maybe we can get a few to work out. Would love to hook up and kill some calories at least. Then again they cycle around a lot and we've had lots of weather since I went. Congrats on your new bow.

Howdy all, I've posted this before, but I'll throw it out there again. After many trips to the lake over the years, the best spot I've found is as follows... The area between Rockpile Rd. ( directly across from Liberty Glenn) and the lake itself, was always good for me. I haven't been there recently, but always found hogs down in there. It's steep down to the lake, hence very little pressure, and a boat pick-up at the lake is extremely helpful. Seeing that the success rate is so low, it tells me they are in the thick steep stuff. I'm no expert, just reporting what I've found after lots of shoe leather. I believe this is also one of the larger unbroken tracts of land open to hunting. Best of Luck

And furthermore the weather gods say those hillsides are going to be slickery with a giant SLICK like the scene from romancing the stone where Michael Douglas and that blonde whats her name go like a mud filled waterslide down the hillsides. Nasty Nasty wet rainy weather all week and into this weekend. YUK!

You know that when I make jokes about your prowess with a knife on another thread you could at least acknowledge with some kinda appropriate remark. It was like a wasted effort to write all that stuff about stabbing yourself to make a blood offering to the gods to improve your aim so you could get a big buck. Even when it worked!
So what kinda new bow you get?

Franklin........shouldn't you be in AZ shooting a monster buck? Although i don't recommend stabbing ones self, it probably did help me get that buck....i'd even do it all over again. What's two weeks on crutches, 21 stitches, & some cash out of pocket to cover my deductible......the mount should be done next month.

The bow is a Bowtech Tribute

Let's take that boat out when you return and hit sonoma.....you buy the whiskey & i'll buy the food.

A.S. your're gonna like that bowtech. If I was to shoot any other brand it would be a bowtech.
So I'm taking tommorow off to pack the truck and finalize some details at home. I'll be on the road by 10:00am friday. I start my hunt on the 1st. the weather is forecasting rain for the 2nd., 3rd, and 20% chance on the 4th. and 5th. Looks like I will get wet. I don't know how much to compensate for elevation in A rainstorm? I would head for the range later today to find out but the sun won't stop shining!
January is a dead month for me Az. and Maui. have done it in.
I checked my calender for February and it looks like I got fri 9th. Sat 10th. and Sunday the 11th. available for a trip[ to Sanoma. I never knew I was so friggen busy doing nothing. I also got 24th,25th,and 26th open pick one of them dates and lets plan it. In fact I'm gonna leave both them dates open and if the weather is good go twice! I don't have any other hunts planned until April 8th. at Wilbur Ridge.
