That'll just make him change his number and we'll be hunting to find it again. Answering every add in the paper until we find "him".[/b]

Well then what would you suggest. I am game to anything that will help get this guy out of the hunting business. We have to teach him a lesson. I don't think he has changed his number yet... has he?

Bayedsolid,
I think the reason no one has pressed charges is because Larry's membership contract is so vague. It never says how many times you can hunt in a year, nor does it actually give the property acreage.
So if you get to hunt just one time on a 40 acre parcel, Larry would have actually fulfilled his legal obligations to his membership contract. I have never seen his membership contract, but that's the conclusion that F&G warden and I came to. I have spoken with several of Hamilton's disgruntled hunter's, most of them are fired up, but don't take the steps to file a small claims proceeding against him. I guess they figure for their loss of $300, it's not worth the trouble to file a small claims procedure (costs about $30, and can be filed in their county/city). What a shame.

He didn't have an outfitter's license until recently, so now if there is one small claims suit against him it should be enough to keep F&G from issuing his next year's outfitter's license. This year's license expires in June.

I don't think he's going to change his phone number or his name. He hasn't done it yet, and he's been doing this for at least 8 years that we know of. Keep calling until we can get someone to file a small claims against him... that at least keeps him reminded of how unethical he is.
Not that he cares, which is exactly the problem with any "con artist", but we can at least keep him busy.

Why don't folks say they are looking for a honest to goodness hunt and tell him you will pay on the day of the hunt when you meet. Never show up for the hunt, that way you are wasting his time and clogging up his hunts. I am sure this would only work for a short period as he would catch on that anyone wanting to pay the day of the hunt are in on it but what the heck it's only a phone call and a sunday confession for lying.

Git you into heaven too maybe.

All this time and no one, not anyone has a pic or video of Larry. This cries out for a hidden cam crew.

I don't have the time to get too involved in trying to bag this scumbag, but I do have a few thoughts on it. First of all, I would suspect that he already has an ongoing read as a member or guest on this forum, so he knows everything posted here -- but that is probably a good thing, but just assume that he does. But it seems like a small claims court action is the best suggested action I have read yet. Also, it seems that contract law needs to be the heart of any small claims court charge. I have read that folks have waited at a store for him to show up and he is a no-show quite frequently. Seems to me that if he makes a verbal contract (to support his written contract) to meet a client at the store (or anywhere else for that matter), when he is a no-show, without prior notice to the client and without legal excuse, then he has violated the contract and should be liable for reimbursing the client's expenses for the day at the very least. If he leads a client to a worthless site, then he met his contractual obligations (maybe), but if he does not show up, then to my thinking he clearly has not met his obligations and should be liable for the clients expenses and the client may also be able to void the contract and request that a refund be ordered by the court along with expenses for the wasted day.

Very well put Jackrabbit... somebody please file ...

For anyone wanting to file a complaint, here is a convenient letter to send to Larry, the Department of Fish and Game and your local Police Department and/ or DA.
send the copies, save the original...

Oh and by the way, Larry, if you're reading this... I am sick and tired of your hunters trespassing on my land because you lie to them about the boundaries and take my signs down.

Deedy, is it time for a little "Game Cam Mission"? Put a big fat sign up and hide a camera in the bushes. Lets see who shows themselves.

I know- it's long overdue- thanks Lurediver. I've just been a little busy, but it definitely needs to happen before our oat fields come in to the "boot", or "head out". Which is in about two weeks.

Supposedly there are supposed to be people hunting the bow ranches this weekend because he mentioned to me that his representative would be showing the property on the 25th because he had members coming to hunt this weekend.

Update: I called 'ol Larry just today and he returened my call. If anyone is interested, this is what he told me (verbatim, I took notes) - by the way, that boy can talk - he just doesn't shut up.
1. he says it's $300.00 a year to hunt four ranches (two archery only and two both archery and rifle).
2. he says three ranches are about 400-500 acres and one ranch is about 1200 acres. He cleverly (?) names them: ranch 1,2,3 and 4. All have four have year-round water source with no. 4 having a half dozen water holes.
3. he says if you kill a pig over 100lbs you pay an extra hundred bucks, under 100lbs no extra charge.
4. he says success rates on the archery ranches is around 80% ; success on the rifle ranches is around 70% - he says it's lower on the rifle ranches because hunters tend to forget to sight in their rifles (really, he said that).
5. he says all ranches are within 10-15 minutes of the south shore of Lake San Antonio (Paso Robles area).
6. he says he'll fax the details and to send the check to the Bakersfield PO Box.
7. he says a representative will meet me (us) at the store on the corner the morning of our first hunt.

That's about it. Get out your check book boyz

Thats the exact same story he told me. At least he keeps his stories straight...haha...One thing you left out though is that you don't pay the extra $100 for the hogs until after you get the two that come with your hunt. Also all the quail, dove, turkey, coyotes, and squirels you can shoot and $300 to take a deer.

Same story he gave me. I left a message the first time I called and he must have left me about 6 messages before I answered. When I told him I knew of the area where the ranchs are, and I would ask Deedy for references on them since I knew her, the line went silent. I told him I would get back to him in a day or two, but his enthusiasm was gone at that point.

Why doesn't someone get Warden Tognazzini in on this. He was very instramental in getting a legitimate hunting club booted off the Work ranch. So that he and his buddies could hunt it.
