I have another Ca license question, but this time it's for a friend. We are both going to buy licenses this year, but haven't had them for several years. I have my old one and i think my original paper whatever it's called. But he has moved twice since his last license and can't find anything. Can he still get his license just with his driver's license so they can look him up, or will they refuse him and make him take a test or whatever that is you have to do for your first license?

It depends on where you buy it. I usually get mine @ Turner's, and they ask to see the old one. This year I bought it @ Big 5 and they did ask for anything but my money!

You can sign an affidavit that swears you had a license.
