I'd like to tell you those bucks were from here........but they were from FHL.......there are bucks on the ranch that'll match these....I shot at a big forkie 2 years ago that would go 24"-26" range.......unfortunately shot right over it's back..........so far I haven't heard of anyone getting it.........went up to the new side awhile back.........seen deer.........pretty open country........thought about putting a tree stand by the ponds.......think it would be good during archery........seen a little hog sign but don't think this side is going to be a big hog producer........there has been a couple decent bucks spotted on the ranch.......the biggest one we spotted was on the hill side just about........HUH?......gotta go the wifes calling me.

I ALSO AGREE WITH YOU ABOUT THE OTHER SIDE,ABOUT HOGS. PRETTY OPEN COUNTRY.IF YOU SAW ONE IT WOULD BE PASSING THRU AND PROBABLY TOO FAR AWAY. THE POND IDEA SOUNDS GOOD.THAT ONE POND LOOKS PRETTY DEEP SHOULD HOLD WATER FOR A WHILE. I DONT BOW HUNT BUT HAVE A GREAT TIME.

Hi Jackman!

My 11 year old and I hunted Los Gatos Creek ranch for turkey and we were unable to see, hear or find any sign of them. I did see plenty of hog tracks though they were all ove the roads. If your boys like to varmint hunt check out WU's Orchired (sic) Ranch near Kettlemen City more then enough gry squirill ss to go around. WU also has a new Varmint ranch near Teachapi with fishing and it has pigs and deer. Orchered has pigs but from what i could tell precious few.

YES!!! I've hunted there for more than half a year now and the terrain is great for deer but i havent seen many fresh pig sign

Thats cause theres too many people. We used to see animals a couple years ago. ANYBODY EVER HEARD SAVE SOME FOR SEED? Used to be quail now there's like 10,used to be hogs now small herd = 1 sow with maybe 4 60# piglets & who knows where they are at any given time, Deer ? up high need a quad, People get the additude I pay for this I'll kill anything I see. When We should be thinking about quality not quantity, do something while you are there to try to hold pigs? Clear some brush plant a apple tree so WE can eat some apples? Now its like DUDE! lets get there first in case we see something. You know before everyone else gets there. Should be interesting opening day of rifle season. Might be openings in the ranch after that huh? gonna be some angry fellows. Especially since Me & birdawg already arrowed the only 2 bucks on the ranch. lol.

I saw birddawgs pics of his forky.It doesnt look to me that he was hunting on the "Oak Tree Ranch"
I have not seen that out-building or that apple orchard before. Maybe its in a hidden valley??. I have a 12 year old that would love to harvest his first buck.If we are talking about the Oak Tree ranch maybe some advise will help him score.

Hey jackman how ya doin? I was just teasin ya'all. I have'nt been since I seen you last I think. Birdman got that buck somewhere else. How about you guys Been lately? I probably won't go till rifle opener. We go up to get away, I mean we hunt. Usually gets more serious at deer season. So honestly I don't have any secret spots. I'm limited too with no quad. With the previous years guys always got'em up high! So since birddawg filled his tag. He can be drive me around on his lol. Hey get you're boys some snake gators,cause some of those canyons got rattlers. Hey I'm selling that prowler trailer if you know anybody looking? So you guys going opener? This gas situation sucks too 100 bucks round trip! I go every weekend whats that 700 bucks just for gas hmmm looks like no steak lots of bologna.

We are probably going to play hookey and go up the first or second week and hunt a couple of days during the week. I was on the other side and it looks real good for deer if you get up at crack of dawn and are sitting somewhere to glass.You can see a lot of country. I saw a couple of velvet forkeys and some flat heads. My toyota and my buddies chevy stock 4 wheeler made it over there. We are going to trim some bushes next time. may be well see each other up there. Im going up this thursday and friday going to shoot bunnies.

was curious what you wanted for the trailer?? Also how long is it? I know a member who might be interested. Also ,is it the trailer that you and your girl were in or the other more modern one?
We were up last week and my 12 year old got his first pig. Saw a herd of about 12. Also kilt one rattler at the white shed . So step lightly.

Also saw a forkey right at the gate going back into WU from the ranch. loluck

as a matter of fact......I did get that buck on the oak tree ranch........on the faaaaaar western side of the ranch........you kow.......the side that overlooks the ocean........LOL.........it looks like I'll be wavsfr's chauffer this year.......anything just to get out........by the way if anyone was bow hunting.....a blind in the shade of one of those oak tree's by the ponds on the new side should have produced a buck with all this heat we've had lately.

The hog was a 60 #. Perfect for this guy to carry him out in 110 degree heat. We had seen a big pig at the swamp the night before and tom couldnt connect.He was pretty bummed. Went back next morning and didnt see a thing. When we went to camp the boys started shooting birds with their pellet guns. At 10 AM they looked across from the shack with the pot bellied stove and saw 12 pigs running up the road toward the gate at the end of the road. We grabbed the rifles and paralleled them. We dropped into the creek bed and when the two boys came around a corner , the pigs were drinking water. Each boy shot at a pig but only Tom (hunting geese) connected. He didnt waste any meat as he hit it in the head. Good start for a 12 year old.
He's looking for a deer /pig combo now.

Well boys whos going this weekend? DEER opener. Me,birdawg & another friend of mine are. Well if we get our a tags back by friday! Talked to jim he said his buddy shot that big hog I seen. That sucks I wanted that one. Said it was over 350. I figured 375-400 when I seen her. So far there are 8 people going with 2 on other side 3 of us. So not too bad. Besides a little action up there might stir things up. Get'em movin most bucks get killed on opening & last weekend.

THE BOYS AND I ARE GOING UP ON WED AFTER THE OPENER. WE SAW A FORKY AT THE GATE GOING BACK INTO WU. ALSO A FEW DEER UP THE RIDGE AT ROBERTS CANYON.
BE CAREFUL IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF THAT QUAD. THERE IS A PIC OF THE BIG PIG ON THE BOARD AT CAMP.

Well I'm back. Now I'm heading to the beach for a week with My daughter. We did'nt see much a few doe's I got on one buck. Couldnt see a difined fork so, no shooting for me. Too small anyways if I cant see good horn @ 200 yds. Just a baby I like grandpa bucks. Me & My buddy shot at some hogs. missed of course. Then I shot one about half hour later. Finally killed me an all black hog. So anyways ya'all have fun. I'll see ya later in the season.

Back from the ranch. Spent a couple of days hunting. Saw one spike buck and one deer that we couldnt see his/her head. Jim was up and saw a few pigs but didnt get a shot off. A few of us are going up again on Friday. well see what happens. Ill keep you posted

chads still up there....hopefully they have a buck hanging........we seen a small spike and some does saturday......I heard the hog was taken last thursday.........someone killed a nice little forky saturday morning............about 15" spread with 1 eye guard.....the deer are comming to water around 10-11 in the morning.....not seeing much for legal buck but they are there........good luck..

P.S. your fire pit is looking pretty good.
