Hey all. My family and I have relocated from the east to the west. Not sure if we will be staying in CA permanently, but who knows. I am an avid outdoorsman who hunts waterfowl, deer, elk, bear, turkey, etc. and all sorts of fishing. Pretty much everything. Been doing it for over 30 years now. Looking forward to exploring some new ground. Right now, located out of Reedley, CA. Looking for anyone who would like to take a seasoned fledgling (lol) under their wing and show them some general areas for deer and duck/goose hunting. I've got no problem travleing to the Sac area for waterfowl. Also looking for anyone who wants to get together so they can explain how all of the intricacies with CA hunting work. Been doing some reading but compared to back east, seems you ned a PHD to decipher the code. Also looking for someone who can direct me on the methods for recreational crabbing and general locations as well. Crabbed for blue crabs in MD all my life.

Little more about me, I'm a father of 4. 16, 5, 3, and 6 month old. Been married to my wife for over 6 years. She is from Reedley, hence the relocation. I have a black lab for waterfowling who probably has over 1500 retrieves under his belt. Getting to the end of his hunting career, but he still acts like he is 5.

Thats about it in a nutshell. If anyone would like to meet up and talk about any of the stuff up there ^, hit me up. Looking to meet some guys and develop some new friendships and share some hunts.

I don't live anywhere near Reedley, but welcome to CA and good luck! If you have questions about seasons and laws for deer/bear hunting you can pm me.

I used to live down in that country and can give you some spots for deer hunting and fishing if you want to shoot me a PM. Basically for public land deer hunting you have A zone (almost done), D7 zone (sold out), and D8 near by. Our blacktail/muley hybrids aren't as numerous as whitetails are in your country, so public land success rates tend to be low. That being said, some guys find good spots around there and get deer nearly every year once they get things figured out.
