My family and I just got back from a trip up to Modoc County (Likely Tables Zone) to scout for antelope. Thanks to everyone that gave me information about the area and places to look for goats. I must have driven nearly every back road up there and came away with a pretty good understanding of the area. It was fun to actually see all of the places I've been reading about and looking at on my maps. Unfortunately, with the exception of one large herd of about 65 does and 6 bucks, I only saw a few antelope. I was dissapointed that I didn't see more, but I've heard several people say that by the time period two rolls around you can find a lot more goats. I hope so! Even though I didn't see a lot, the ones I did see really got me excited. What awesome animals they are! It's about a nine hour drive each way so I probably won't get back until a day or two before the season opens. Hopefully getting familiar with the area and finding a few antelope on this trip will pay off.
