thats one hell of a buck. It seems whitetail deer draw more press and that why all the money goes that way. I have seen a muley rack go for big bucks or story about people selling there horns and hunt story. Oh well i just can t wait to read the story and see the pictures. If the guy does sell the rack for a 100K then he should hav the first annual JHO BBQ and beer bust. Then we could all meet and put some faces to these names.

Them are some mighty fine horns posted. They motivate me and they keep the spirit alive.... thanx all! As far as them boundaries go for what is accepted in the respected books I say apples and oranges. I respect and trust ya BC as you sound more currently informed then I on it but unless something has changed on acceptance lately a D-zoner over here aint makin it in terms of pure class into the respected books...Can someone post a list of characteristics on here defining differences between a blacktail and mule deer other then the deers tail or facial markings or its overall size?

wmidbrook,
This Jeff Dozio guy, do you know him, the name sounds real familure. Is he a grape farmer that lives in Lodi? I think I signed him up in WU several years ago, he and his buddy, they both work for the same guy. If it's the same guy, cool dude. Just curious.

Oh yeah....figured you might want to hear the story....Jeff said he'd never been able to get within 500 yards of the buck. That season tho, the grape skin pile fermented due to the hot weather....he said the buck was staggering around. He walked up to within about 10 yards and shot it in the ear but missed, the buck tripped on the grapeskin pile and banged its temple on a rock--end o story...some say it wasn't fair chase. Others say, it violated hunting ethics...pursuing an animal under the influence.

Selling some discount spaceship tickets too if anyone's interested.....

Seriously tho, Jeff tagged that super buck in CA last year and got himself one heck of a nice coues down in Old Mexico last year too boot.

I can't remember which one was Jeff, but the house I was at had some great looking trophies on the wall. I think he had a couple of nice Whitetails, a life size Javalina, some cool looking turkey mounts, and now a 30 incher and a Coues. Tell Jeff Congrats!

TR can't you just put a blacked out bar over the deer's eyes. I MIGHT have seen that somewhere on the computer, you can't really identify the person

Will do. He added a triple bearded turkey to his collection a year or two ago....supposed to synch up soon and do some muzzleloader shootin'.

Must admit I'm a bit jealous how much time those farm boys get to hunt...then again, I don't envy harvest season at all.

Sounds like a hoax, why would someone even mention something like this without being able to back it up?

What, did somebody tell you that Santa Claus isn't real and traumatize you? Did you even bother to read the thread? Plenty of folks gave plenty of rationale for not "backing it up" immediately. Contrary to the conspiracy theorists, the longer the wait, the more I'm inclined to believe it's really big. I guess when it comes to human behavior I'm a pessimist, but when it comes to big bucks I’m an optimist.

Backcountry, you have a way with words, you are so right. As far as I'm concerned
this guy that shot the 35 incher is my hero until proven other wise. If it was me I would be doing the same thing.
