need some help please

Hi my name is trevor smith. iam in the Marines and stationed in 29 palms, just east of palm springs. i wanna go hunting next season. been in cali 2 years now, but havent been able to go du to training, iraq, etc. i wanna hunt deer doesnt matter species. so can anyone tell me where the best hunting in my area is. i will be hunting with a rifle if that matters. i would also would like to stay within 2-3 hours of 29. PLEASE HELP ME.

I cannot help you with locations in SoCal, but if you get a chance to go north of the bay area, there's a lot of public land, both Zone A & B, where we would love to drag a marine along - we like to walk, but that shouldn't be a problem for a marine
