New to fishing

Went fishing for my first time at kern river out in Bakersfield came back empty handed i was just wondering if the kern river has a successful catch rate or if its even a good fishing spot

Very good place to fly fish for trout. Never used bait there but I'm sure it would work. Depending on where you are fishing you can sight fish and just cast to the fish.

Fish the canyon part of the Kern or the lowland aqueducts funneling water to farmland? If you were fishing the aqueducts in the low country, search Bakersfiled aqueduct or duct fishing. Tons of stuff on Youtube.
