Northeastern Ca Cow Elk hunt

Decided to burn my points and was fortunate to draw this cow elk tag.
I've been up scouting once around Alturas, before my deer hunt took place. Didn't see any elk around the DG area, so I'm going up a couple days early to scout a little more. I'll never draw it again, so I'd appreciate any tips where to look.

Might want to check out areas around Kellogg mountain and baseball reservoir. I've seen alot of elk around meteorite tank on the east side of the Collins timber property. North end of the Warners are worth a look too. Good luck!
