I would just make it clear your intension is to hunt. So i would do archery. most of the guide have access to some awesome private land, that you will get to see at about 100 mph while you chase down a pig, the jump out and shot at it. I myself have found it very unfulfilling! I have used 2 of the above mentioned guides with similar results. Still great guys and fun but was far from challanging.QUOTE]
Re Archery & Guides: My discussions with the guides about archery is that "there are too many wounded animals". While most advertise that you will get a good shot opportunity, if fact I know several on the list will keep hunting till you get an animal (or you are such a poor shot you run out of ammo or they “give up”). That said, they are loathe to take archery hunters as they generally don’t want to "call it" after a wounded animal(s) gets away. So if you want to do archery, be sure to check with the guide as to whether they do that and what are the "rules".

I wish there was a way just to buy access to the land and then be left alone..
What you want motor-vator would be to join one of the hunting lease programs or try semi-guided hunts. I know that Cottonwood hunting (below) has semi-guided hunts it looks good so that I'm going to try that after the first of the year. I don't know any other good semi-guided ones but I'd love to learn from others. I'm aware of Bryon resort as semi-guided but I'm not enthusiastic about it given much of what has been posted here in the last several years.
Erik Smith (I don’t know if they do archery but it is semi-guided)
