Thanks, Jesse. I fought with it last night, but that last glass of wine soaked up my patience and I gave up. Some kind of open tag somewhere, but danged if I could find it.

Mark, funny stuff my friend. I'll have to owe ya one.

Nice Job Phil. It was nice to see our sport being broadcasted in a "postive light". Nice shot btw...

Holy crap, that was a good documentary! Thanks Speck for representing our community in a positive way and not letting PBS turn it against us.

When hunting big game.............I don't notice the recoil of the .300WM or the .338WM..............for some reason when shooting at big game the high powered report sounds like a muffled shot..............sounds like it was fired from a rifle one block away. Really muffled sound......I know it is still harmful to the eardrum although the high adrenaline rush blanks out the sensation of recoil and muffles the loud high powered report from firing with your eardrums next to the rifle. When I tried to wear earplugs while big game hunting.............I couldn't hear my buddy's warning if there was a rattlesnake about to bite my ugly rear end..............so I don't wear ear plugs anymore when big game hunting. It is only one or two shots.............that will still harm the eardrums I know but the very few shots seem to mitigate the risk............or the risk of being bitten by some rattlesnake while your buddy is yelling a warning to you blocked out by the earplugs. 'Nuff said.

Phil, I spent a fair amount of time with Mike of Native Hunts talking about this segment prior to its airing . Obviously a great deal of concern about which direction the editing would go. Not only did it come across well, I think it was a home run having an articulate women being an advocate for the sport. Here's hoping that more people than hunters were watching.

Thanks, Michael. I had a lot of the same concerns, but after spending the better part of an hour on the phone with Chris Bauer, the producer, I felt pretty confident he wouldn't put the screws to me (or the sport). I doubt Chris will be taking up hunting any time soon, but I do feel like he treated us very fairly... and that's all I can ask.

That was a great piece. Not only were hunters shown in a positive light, the sport/management aspect were also presented in an unbiased manner. Thanks Phil!

I don't know how I missed this earlier - but now the video won't play for me. User error perhaps? It shows the first frame of the hog but when I hit play I get a black screen.
