I popped my boar just down the road fron camp - I literally blasted it out of an evil smelling wallow. Since it was close to the road and camp, I decided to haul it back to wash it off before gutting it.
On Hronk's scale it came in at 160lbs live (actually dead) weight., minus quite alot of blood.
Field dressed (gutted), it hung at 120lbs.
On the hook at the butcher (no skin, head, feet) - 80lbs.
I have always figgered 1/3 reductions, this shows 1/4. Different scales probably influenced the results, and also take into account that his pig had the fattest guts of any I've ever seen - stomach packed with acorns and intestines stuffed full of grass.
