I've started looking at options for a self guided pronghorn hunt in Wyoming next fall. From what I've found from the WY Game & Fish Dept website areas 27, 32, 46, 47, 48 and 52 look good based on public access availability, drawing chances and availability of doe tags. Does anyone on the forum have any experience or feedback on any of these areas? Also, if there is season overlap when we go we might pick up a couple of deer tags. Does anyone have experience with this. Thanks in advance.

I have hunted in WY many times it is very easy to get on to private land. They have a walkin program but I have never used it To get information and rancers numbers call the wy F&G and talk to the biologist for the areas you want to hunt. He will give you more info than you thought. The areas north and east of Casper have more tags avalable and you can buy a doe tage over the counter in most places. Pronghorn are eazy to hunt drive around glassing them untill you find the one you want then figure out how to get him.

I have hunted in area 46 out of Medicine Bow twice. The first time the lopes were everywhere, and you could get over the counter doe tags. The last time they were a lot harder to find, but with a little scouting we found them.

There is a lake right across from town that we camp at, it is a nice place to set up in.
