hi, i'm new to this website and i hope it's not another gossip and flirt site. i'll be doing my first wyoming pronghorn hunt this fall and would like some suggestions on what riflescope to use. i have a variety of variable powers and reticle configurations. thanks ahead for any help. padon

Pretty safe to say its not a flirt sight (well there is a couple of guys I am not to sure of

) Gossip, well thats what the campfire is for.

As for your question. What gun are you using? What distance are you comfortable shooting.

300 yard shot a 3x9 scope is plenty.

If you are thinking of more than that then there are many options.

The brand of the rifle is in my opinion more important than the power. I have 5 Leupold scopes and have been very happy with them. A 4.5x14 scope is plenty powerful with the 3x9 being a great all around choice.

thanks, paulc and deerslam. sounds like my deer rig will work just fine on pronghorns. i'll use it this summer on penna. groundhogs instead of my 6mm. padon

This is great site and full of info as well as full of other things but what do you expect when you get a bunch of hunter together. Welcome and enjoy. good luck on the Prongy hunt.

4 of us went last year, and I am pretty sure all of us had 3x9.
4 guys, 6 speed goats. Shots ranging from 200 to 405. All equalled dead goats.
