The “good ‘ol days” for salmon fishing is suddenly right now off the Bay Area coast. A big school of large salmon was located Wednesday morning just south of S Buoy and all boats on the scene had 2-fish limits for all aboard. The fish averaged 15 pounds, with many 12 to 18, and only a scant few under 10, the biggest fish and best report in many years. “They started biting right off, we couldn’t even get all the rods in the rod holders,” said Scott Sutherland at Berkeley Marina.
