Low human impact is key when hunting, period. Most of you guys go out on public land and rush through the canyons wondering why you don't see s*!t. Use your head! Other idiots are hunting here too, and making things more difficult on others by educating all the animals on the planet that they are being hunted! I'm tired of all you lazy hunters that don't put any time into becoming a better predator, f-ing up the hunting. Quit being LAZY be and READ. There is a ton of info on how to not be an idiot in the woods. You all have no excuses. I wasn't raised a hunter. It's within me, and I did everything to cultivate it by reading as much as possible. Then I implemented what I had learned, and had success. Quit asking people " where can I shoot one" and figure it out like everyone else. I'm a taxidermist and believe you me, I hardly have a tongue left from biting it listening to these terrible hunting stories. I've heard it all. 90% of hunting is cerebral, and unfortunately most people lack common sense. The result is nocturnal animals that jump out of their skins at the first sign of humans! I guess I just want to thank all of you idiots for making the rest of us serious hunters absolutely frustrated and hating all of you Cabela donning, ATV driving, wannabe's...You have no place in the woods and would have been dead by natural selection in the real world...STAY HOME!!!!

Wow - new to the forum, and instead of making a good impression, decides to insult many great members here on Jesse's and hunters in general, that actually do "READ" each others posts, as well as many other forms of educational materials on the subject. In my experience the majority of people here use this forum as place to supplement their knowledge to get an extra opinion and help them grow as hunters. It is our responsibility as hunters to help one another out so we all become better. There are many new hunters that post here, new to an area, or people hunting a specific game for the first time, even if they have been hunting other game for years. Think of all the knowledge that can be gained in a short amount of time by talking to others with experience. Before the internet we all asked our dads, moms, uncles, brothers, sisters, grandparents, friends, that sucessful hunter in the neigborhood that everyone wanted to be like or the local taxidermist. That is just the way it is done. Then we buy the hunting magazines, and books, and hit the field learning as we go. It takes patience, time and guidance along the way.

So Mr. hasbowwillhunt, when you do encounter these hunters who have high human impact are you taking the time to teach them or give them advice from your experince in a constructive manner, or are you just worrying about how you are impacted. Jesse's hunting forum is a great place to learn from hunters who obviously are not that "LAZY" if they are getting out in the field and learning and sharing their experiences.

The question to you is, how are you going to contibute positively and how much information did you share in your post about scent management / control ?

This was your opportunity to gain customers for taxidermy business. How much business do you think you've generated with this post?

I believe most of us weren't raised hunters also but it was within us. Yes we read, and one of the most helpful place to read was here, in JHO forums. Im still pretty new in this site, but what I've seen so far is experienced hunters out there that are willing to chime in their knowledge and share with beginners, who actually got somethin out of it. If you truly want to help, then help.

You can read all you want but its in the field you gain experience. Trust me I read all the time but I don't get to hunt much. That's why I am still educating game every chance I get... Like it or not!! LOL

There's an overall lack of respect for everything on this planet. You will find that JHO is a well read site by both the layman and the professional. It is every hunters duty to encourage new people to join our ranks and keep our chosen sport of hunting alive. That's just it man. You scattershot at all of us. I happen to agree with some of what you said but definately not how you presented it. I'd venture to say that most of the guys on here would agree with most of what you said. But you had to be an a$$ right of the bat which doesn't get you very far here. Right now your credibility is zero. Which means instead of us discussing the merits of your post instead you're gonna get flamed.
Personally, when I hunt, I walk in to the area I'll be hunting leaving the truck behind. I'll make sure the wind is right for me and then I'll decide what my strategy is. I'll spend lots of time glassing and watching or I'll sit on a spot I've already scouted in a natural blind. If I decide to still hunt or spot and stalk it is a long, slow process...remember "white man walk lots, sees little; indian walks little, sees lots". If I'm hunting public land I let the other hunters do the foot work for me. I'll spot them, figure out their plan, and then place myself at exit routes. That works amazingly well. I've shot two nice B zone bucks with that strategy. Also when hunting public land I'll throw on a pack and hunt deep away from the roads. Lots of "hunters" on public land won't go more than a mile away from the truck or atv. I'll hike out there and get into the game. Don't be lazy.
The last few years I've taken to hunting archery seasons with a recurve and rifle seasons with my .30-30 that has iron sights on it. Definately tests my woodsmanship having to get close to the game I'm hunting without spooking them. Shot two nice A zone bucks and a pig last season so I'm doing something right. One buck and the pig didn't see it coming. The other buck knew something was up but didn't get the chance to decide it was bad for him.
So, in review, let your quads do the walking. Leave the atv for recovery or getting close to your starting spot.
Walk little, see lots.
Let the other hunters do the drive for you. Set up to block their drive on the escape routes you've scouted.
Get away from the roads. Once you're a mile or mile off road you'll see more game in busy public land.
Don't be shy. Get to know private landowners with pig and turkey problems.
Don't be an a$$hole. It doesn't get you very far and ruins your credibility with others.
