I don't know about the legality of it, but ethically you'd be leaving pieces of clay all over the wilderness. You don't have a shooting range nearby?

It depends on where you are located (which county, which National Forest/BLM land, etc.).

I don't know if the formulation for clays has changed, but, in the old days there used to be a warning about the clays not being good for pigs.

Is there any info on the map? keep in mind shooting and hunting are not the same you can hunt in a lot more places than you can go shooting

I think it has, they raised the price on them also. We have a range were we throw them quite a bit, and in a month or two they are gone.

They are marked biodegradable now. Pig warning is absent.

Inquire locally about target practice. Glad you were planning to clean up your mess (and maybe somebody elses). ;)
